It traces the prehistoric origin and distribution of the crooked knife, and illustrates both the anatomy of the knife and how it is used. It establishes and identifies the Three Tribal Styles of  and presents in beautiful digital photography, the Nine Categories of  Design found on crooked knife handles. The book includes the most extensive Crooked Knife Bibliography. created providing important resources to scholars, bush crafters and collectors alike.

    Published in 2003,  Mocotaugan; The Story and Art of the Crooked Knife  was printed in extremely limited quantities; only 200 hand-bound leather and linen, Limited 1st Edition copies and only 500  copies of the "Thesis"  bound Limted 1st Edition copies were printed.

 

Shortly after its publishing, Mocotaugan; The Story and Art of the Crooked Knife  was accepted into the United States Library of Congress.

       In 2004 we also published the book on a  free website . Unfortunately, in 2010 that website had to be taken down due to repeated copyright violations and image infringement
